The Chanda Family planned to have their family session at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., which was unique and fitting for them. My assistant and I like to arrive slightly early to sessions on location to get an idea of the best places to photograph, keeping lighting in mind.

There is no lack of confidence or personality regarding Ms. Simone! Whenever the Watts family books a family session, I know their gallery will be filled with beautiful, exciting, and unique images of their little girl. One of the many things I love about this family’s sessions is that they ALWAYS recreate the same image yearly!

Talk about a show-stopper! Look at that beautiful golden hour glow! I have photographed this family on many occasions, ranging from family sessions to headshots for their business practice. I love taking a moment to get individual images of the kids in your family. It lets their light shine and personality come through.

With these smiling faces, would you believe me if I told you that this family session was in cold and rainy weather? We couldn’t let the last of the fall-colored leaves on the trees go to waste, so this family session was happening, rain or shine and these little ladies understood the assignment!

I’m so glad the Obrien family chose to update their family images at this beautiful location. We even snuck in a couple of images of just Mom and Dad together! And the lighting was *chefs kiss*!

I always like to include macro shots of your bundle of joy during their newborn session. The shots focus on the little details you ogle over in the first few weeks of their life, but are some of the first we forget! My favorite is the wrinkles in the bottom of their feet, but their adorable little nose, beautiful lips, and dainty lashes are not to be passed up.

These first two images posted below sum up Baylor’s newborn session pretty accurately. Awake and alert! Have no fear, the sleepy dust did make its way into the studio after some extra snuggles (no complaints about that here!) and some milk from Mom. I’m not sure what I love more though, newborn lovey snuggles, or a beautiful candid moment between mom and her youngest son.

This dreamy location and Dory’s willingness to literally “jump in feet first” made for an amazing session! After playing in the creek, we headed for dry land. I loved being able to accommodate two separate locations for this session. Dory’s final gallery was so diverse!

11 day old Elliot came into the studio with big brother Sam by his side. Taking photos with your brother can be a little tricky when you’re 18 months old, but Sam was so sweet with Elliot. He would point to Elliot’s nose and give him kisses and cuddles. Elliot experienced most of his newborn session behind closed eyes. But this didn’t stop him from giving us several adorable sleepy smiles.

Swing minis are awesome for nearly any age. With customized swings for boys, girls, and the younger crowd, these mini-sessions are one of my most popular mini-sessions! The greenery around the swings and the lighting that we aim to capture make these images whimsical and timeless.

Storm would do anything for his favorite thing…cheese! Storm’s owner came well-equipped with several packages of string cheese. Even for an old pup like himself, Storm knew exactly what he was about to be rewarded with when he heard that wrapper peel back! It was the cutest thing to watch him get excited for his special treat!

Sweet Tellulah arrived at JNP studio at nine days old with her proud siblings and doting parents. Tellulah, nicknamed Lulah (how adorable is that?!), had us “aww-ing” throughout her entire session.
